  • What is live sketchnoting?

Sketchnoting is the real-time creation of visual art during an event or meeting to capture its essence and key discussion points while simultaneously engaging the audience.

    Where is sketchnoting typically used?

Sketchnoting can be used in a variety of environments, such as meetings, conferences, events, and keynote speeches. In essence, it can be integrated in any setting where information is shared or exchanged.

What are the benefits of incorporating sketchnoting into events or presentations?

Incorporating sketchnoting into events or presentations offers several benefits. It caters to the 65% of people who are visual learners, making the content more accessible and understandable.

Live sketchnoting boosts engagement during the event by providing a visually stimulating experience that captures attention and encourages active participation. Sketchnoting also adds an entertaining element to the event, making it more enjoyable and memorable for attendees. It helps break the fatigue and monotony of virtual meetings by introducing a visually dynamic and interactive element.

The resulting mind map also serves as a meeting notes, documenting events, increasing engagement on social media. This can enhance brand awareness and provide a visual record for those who couldn’t attend.

    How does live sketchnoting work?

Sketchnoting works by having our artists create real-time visual representations of the themes discussed through a mind map. During the event, the artist listens in and translates the information into creative designs—capturing key moments and ideas. This process provides a unique visual record of the event, enhances communication, and fosters an engaging environment for the participants.

How is sketchnoting different from regular note-taking?

Sketchnoting differs from regular note-taking in that it incorporates visual elements, such as drawings, icons, and typography, alongside text. It leverages the power of visuals to enhance understanding, retention, and engagement—making it a more creative and holistic approach to capturing and organising information.

How can I find skilled event sketchnote illustrators for my upcoming event?

Look no further than Ortus Draws! Live sketchnoting is our specialty. Let’s discuss your upcoming event and what we can do to bring it to the next level. You can book a call here!

    What is your
    turnaround time?

Our turnaround time for live sketchnotes is 12 hours post-event. Once we receive your approval for the mind map, we promptly create the animated GIF and video timelapses, which you can expect to receive within 12 hours of the initial approval.

Can your illustrators understand the industry’s technical terms?

Yes, our illustrators are experienced in working with various industries and are capable of understanding and incorporating technical terms specific to your industry. They are skilled at conducting research and familiarising themselves with industry-specific terminology to ensure accurate and relevant illustrations. We have covered top industries such as BFSI, Retail, Startups, Healthcare, Logistics, HR and Cybersecurity.

How is the sketchnote presented during
    the event?

The sketchnote progress is presented through our window in the virtual meeting room. Instead of our camera being on, it will show our drawing pad—allowing participants to check its progress whenever they wish, and the client may opt to spotlight it for everyone to see whenever they feel it’s appropriate. In hybrid events, we dial in virtually and projectors or screens are used to show the illustration’s progress to the attendees present in the physical space.

What do we need to give you prior to the event?

All we need from you is the official colour palette, preferred orientation of the mind map (horizontal, vertical, banner/presentation, square, etc.), and event title. If you would like illustrated portraits of the speakers, we will need reference photos for each speaker. While it’s helpful to receive additional information, notes, or presentation slides in advance, it’s not necessary as our skilled illustrators are capable of creating the mind map on the spot during the event.

How much do you charge for live sketchnoting?

Our competitive rate starts at $499 USD per hour. Our rate is already inclusive of the 2 batches of revisions, animated GIF version of the mind map, and the video timelapse of the final sketchnote.

What is your rescheduling policy like?

You may reschedule your event with us with no extra charge. Your deposit will simply be credited to your new date. If you choose to cancel, there are no extra fees but you will lose your deposit.

Can event sketchnotes be customised to match a specific event’s theme
    or branding?

Yes, absolutely! We can adapt our sketchnote to any look or branding you need.

    Will it be distracting?

Nope! We’re just like any other participant, but with no audio to ensure zero distractions. In fact, our illustrators actually help the participants focus and stay on track!

Will you provide us with the working file(s)?

Upon request, we can provide a PSD (Photoshop) file of the mind map at no additional cost.

What are the advantages of illustrated portraits?

Illustrated portraits often evoke emotions, tell a visual narrative, and serve as a unique piece of artwork that can be cherished for years to come.

Illustrated portraits capture the unique style and artistic interpretation of the illustrator—adding a personal touch and distinctive aesthetic to the portrait. Unlike traditional photographs, illustrated portraits can showcase the subject in a creative and imaginative way to highlight their personality or story through
    artistic elements.

Can graphic illustrations be customised to match a specific brand’s style or message?
